Setting up an IP camera in the software

A brief tutorial of how to setup an IP camera in the software.

Setting Up an IP Camera

To successfully configure your IP camera, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Access Camera Settings

  1. Open Settings: Navigate to the Settings menu, then select Parameters from the menu bar.
  2. Go to Devices: In the top panel, click on Devices, and then select Cameras.
  3. Add a New Camera: Click on Add to begin configuring a new camera.

Step 2: Select Camera Class

  1. Choose the Camera Class:
    • In the Class dropdown box, locate and select your camera's brand.
    • If your brand is not listed, we recommend selecting the Standard2 class as a general compatibility option.

Step 3: Name the Camera

  1. Enter a Name: Give your camera a name in the Name field. This will help you identify it in the system.

Step 4: Configure Camera Details

  1. Set IP Address and Credentials:

    • In the IP Address field, enter the camera’s IP address.
    • Provide the Username and Password for camera access.
  2. Set Quality and Size:

    • Choose Standard Quality and Standard Size to ensure consistent video performance.
  3. Enter SavePath:

    • Verify that the Save Path matches the Media Path set under Settings > Parameters > General.

Step 5: Additional Configuration for Standard2 Class

If you selected Standard2 as the camera class, you will need to provide the full HTTP path to the image feed hosted by the camera. The format should look something like this:

http://[user]:[password]@[IP]/ISAPI/Streaming/channels/102/picture

Substitute [user][password], and [IP] with your camera's username, password, and IP address. The remaining details can be set as described above.

Step 6: Link Camera to Scale (Optional)

If you want the camera to automatically capture an image when a scale registers a weight, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Scales tab.
  2. Enable Use Camera X (select the appropriate camera you set up).
  3. Assign the camera to the specific scale.

Following these instructions should help you complete the setup for your IP camera in the system.
